Programme / Application Forms

This year’s Programme is now being sold door to door by our Committee Members. The programme will be available to purchase from the Hardware Store and The Post Office from the beginnning of May.

An entry form, which will be included with the programme, is required for a number of our events. Once completed, please post in one of the Yellow Gala Post Boxes at either Dean Park Primary or the Post Office by the closing date detailed on the aplication form for each event.

AGM

The date of this years AGM has been confirmed for Friday 17th June at 7.30pm in the Grey Horse Pub on Main Street, Balerno.

If you have any feedback or you would like to know more about what we do, come along and join us for a drink and meet some of the Committee Members.

Tickets

Please note a change to how you can purchase tickets for our Gala Events. Historically, you have been able to purchase a ticket from the Community Office within Balerno High School. Due to changes within Community Education, this is no longer possible.

Therefore, tickets for both the Talent Show and Magic Show will be sold on Crowning Day and any other event during Gala Week where we have a Tuck Shop and also on the door of the shows themselves.

 

 

Gunging – Who Is Going To Get It???

Well, the Balerno Gala Committee are pleased to announce that this years unlucky pair are:-

Brian Speedie, Deputy Head of Dean Park Primary School

Matt Grieve, Nursery School Teacher, Dean Park Nursery.

Tickets will be available to purchase from the Primary School & Nursery at a cost of 50p per ticket. By purchasing a ticket, you are casting a vote for that person to be gunged on Gala Day.

As usual, Gunging will be our final event during Gala Day.

Crowning Day & Parade – Saturday 21st May 2016

Balerno Gala

Some background on the gala

The Balerno Children’s Gala takes place each year around the end of May and beginning of June and is a fantastic community event arranged for, and on behalf of, the children and families of Balerno.

It encompasses a week long programme of activities which all the children of Balerno are welcome to take part in and culminates in Gala Day. This fun filled day normally consists of some main attractions, a range of other activities along with numerous stalls and sideshows.
